Accepting New Clients

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Art Therapist and Counsellor in Guelph, Ontario. I offer counselling and art therapy services to adults and teens (14 and up) individually and in groups. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, post-partum mood disorders, and eating disorders. I can also help you with depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues.

I provide a range of services including individual one-on-one talk therapy, group counselling, and art therapy.

Individual Counselling
Individual Counselling
Feeling better starts with being yourself. Individual counselling and psychotherapy makes this possible by providing a unique healing relationship that differs from all other relationships in your life.

As your counsellor and psychotherapist, I am ethically and legally bound to keep what you share with me private and confidential. And no matter what you’re thinking, feeling, or have done I will never judge you. I’m here to understand and to help.

As a trained talk therapist, I can help you uncover what’s blocking you in your life and teach you practical skills toward reaching your goals.

Group Counselling
Group Counselling
One of my passions is designing and running specialized therapy groups. Group therapy provides affordable access to services, a sense of belonging and normalcy, and the chance to share and learn from each other’s healing journey.

I also develop groups for agencies for a broad range of issues. These groups are designed to help people struggling with specific challenges.

Learn more about my current groups or contact me if you’d like me to run a group for your agency.

Art Therapy
Art Therapy
As a specially trained Art Therapist, I can help you find ways to express feelings and experiences that words can sometimes fail to capture.

Art therapy and art therapists involve you in more than just making art. It’s a powerful way of helping you explore, express, and work though difficult issues in your life no matter what your age.

Unlike other forms of therapy or counselling, it involves all of your senses. You’ll be moving your body, seeing, smelling, and feeling the materials, as well as talking about your experiences.

Materials can include pastels, paint, clay, pencils, ink, and collage among others.

My Approach

By combining my unique experience in both talk therapy and art therapy, I can help you express what you might fail to find words for.  Together, we’ll work through painful and challenging times in your life in a safe and supportive space.

I can help you understand how past experiences have shaped your life or how certain negative beliefs hold you back. With this knowledge, we’ll create more helpful ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.

My approach includes helping you learn new skills, develop more positive beliefs, improve your self-esteem, and your relationships. Whether it is through words or through imagery, I adjust my approach so that it works for you.

  • Discover new ways to see past the obstacles in your life.

  • Feel a renewed sense of confidence knowing what the problem is and how to fix it.

  • Learn practical skills and tools to deal with life going forward.

Issues I Can Help You With

I provide a range of counselling services in Guelph for such issues as depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I also have specialized knowledge and experience working with trauma, eating disorders, and post-partum mood disorders.

Anxiety & Trauma
Anxiety & Trauma
Do you find your mind spinning on the verge of panic, worrying about the future or the past, or so anxious that you avoid people and situations in your life? If so, you might be struggling with symptoms of anxiety.

If you’ve experienced violent events, domestic and childhood abuse/neglect, natural disasters, combat, or accidents, then you might also be suffering the effects of trauma.

I’ve worked with people from all walks of life through anxiety and trauma. Together, I can help you regain your sense of hope, safety, and self-confidence again.

Port-Partum Issues & New Moms
Port-Partum Issues & New Moms
Along with the joys of parenthood can come stress, uncertainty, and fear.

You might be a new parent looking for extra emotional support. You might already be diagnosed with a postpartum mood disorder.

In either case, I can help support you in finding and developing new skills and resources to help you thrive.

Don’t let feelings of shame or guilt hold you back from reaching out for support.

Body Image & Eating Disorders
Body Image & Eating Disorders
Accepting and finding comfort within yourself can feel impossible if you’re trapped by low self-esteem and negative body image.

The endless intrusive thoughts about your appearance, self-worth, and eating habits can result in harmful compulsive behaviours that take a toll on your physical and emotional health.

Whether you’re diagnosed with a serious eating disorder or you’re struggling with a negative self-image, I can help you overcome these destructive beliefs and build a more positive view of yourself.

My Background

I grew up in Port Hope, Ontario before moving to Guelph as an undergrad student. I ventured out to Victoria, BC for five years to study psychotherapy and art therapy before returning to Guelph to start my own family. Today, I’m a proud Mom of an energetic 3-year-old and happily married to my husband of 18 years.
